In 2006, Cathelijne Lania, a Dutch woman, was pursuing a brilliant marketing career for a major coffee brand but desired work more aligned with her ethical values. Her travels to Nepal deeply moved her, nurturing a dream to assist and support the local population. The discovery, by her mother, of a struggling silversmith factory marked the commencement of A Beautiful Story's adventure. The initial jewelry pieces were crafted from shards of teacups and creatively showcased throughout the Netherlands. Ultimately, her encounter with Nimdiki Sherpa, founder of Nepal's first Montessori school, would define A Beautiful Story's identity, with students also crafting jewelry to fund their studies.

Thus, Cathelijne had her first team of Nepalese designers for future jewelry collections. The Nepalese craftsmanship and expertise were preserved.
