Rifò, the Italian brand pioneering circular and recycled fashion

Step into the world of circular fashion with the Italian brand Rifò. Born in Prato, the historic capital of textile recycling, Rifò offers elegant, timeless clothing and accessories for men and women, made entirely from recycled fibres, with no compromise on environmental or social impact.

The story of Rifò

Rifò was founded in 2017 by Niccolò, a native of Prato. It was during a work trip to Vietnam that he witnessed first-hand the problem of overproduction and textile waste. He decided to return to his hometown to reconnect with a centuries-old craft: that of the cenciaioli, artisans able to identify and transform what is considered waste into a new resource, simply by touch. Rifò, which means "to remake" in Italian, was born from this desire to give materials a new life rather than producing new ones.

Rifò, circular fashion

At Rifò, no new raw material is used to make the collections. The brand is B Corp certified, a mark of rigorous social and environmental commitment, and works with certified recycled yarns. All production takes place within a 30 km radius of Prato, a choice that supports local artisans, guarantees fair wages and drastically limits the carbon footprint linked to transport. Rifò is also a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.

Rifò also partly runs on a pre-order model, producing only what is truly needed to avoid waste.

A concrete environmental and social commitment

Rifò's speciality: recycled wool certified to the GRS (Global Recycled Standard). Wool textile waste is sorted by colour, shredded and re-spun into new yarn, without a full re-dyeing process (only a small percentage of the fibre needs light re-dyeing to adjust the shade). This process saves a considerable amount of water and chemicals compared to virgin wool. The same circular approach applies to the brand's recycled cotton and denim. The goal isn't perfection, but adopting simple habits that fit naturally into everyday life.
